Intro Blog: An Overview for This Project

In thinking about starting this blog, I encountered two obstacles.

1) Old school wrestling has been reviewed multiple times in multiple places; in fact, I have read a lot of these blogs and have drawn inspiration from them. However, in starting this project, my hope is that this does not read like a review blog of every single show you've already seen and read about 50 million times; I hope you read this with fresh eyes and you see why I have fallen in love with - and continue to fall in love with - the sport that is professional wrestling. Yeah, I know it's choreographed and the results are predetermined, but there is artwork to be appreciated in the midst of it all.

2)A lot of this stuff is hard to find. No, seriously, it is. I know we have the WWE Network and all that, but the Network actually does not have every show - and the shows they do have are heavily edited. That being said, I had to rely on some outside sources in order to get all of the videos necessary to properly develop this blog. If you're nice, and you want a copy of some episode or moment that I mention in future posts, I may create a copy for a small nominal fee.

That all being said... here's my vision for this blog. I am currently going back through every single episode of Monday Night Raw and watching them. Eventually, I'll get to WCW Monday Nitro, Shotgun Saturday Night, WCW Saturday Night, WCW Thunder, and some other ancillary shows. Some of the episodes have been seen by me a gazillion times; others have never been seen by me. However, instead of telling you what I hated, I'm only going to tell you what I found entertaining. Some posts will be about characters that I found entertaining overall. Some will point to specific matches that I think you should watch. Some will be about storylines that I think were underrated but fun. Overall, this will be only about what I found interesting - not you, not any other popular wrestling blog, but my viewpoint only.

You're welcome to disagree. You're welcome to leave comments telling me that I am perverted and crazy. You're welcome to agree. You're even welcome to learn something new. Most certainly, you are welcome to donate so that I can pay my seminary bills while doing what will be a self-care project, if you feel so inclined.

Most importantly, you are welcome into this space to have fun! That is what wrestling is all about, right?

I think my first post will be about the debut of Jerry the King Lawler on Raw. Stay tuned!
